How a challenge works

A code looks like X7K2-M9QV. It is not a link to a server and it does not need one — the characters themselves are the data.

Someone finishes a run and shares the clip. The code is printed on it.
You type or paste the code into the game.
The game rebuilds the same region, the same map and the same layout, and shows you the number to beat.

The game’s core is deterministic, which is the only reason this is possible: the same starting conditions and the same inputs always produce the same run, on any phone. It also means a mistyped character is usually recoverable — the decoder repairs the characters people confuse, so 0 for O or 1 for I will not cost you the challenge.

Nothing about a challenge involves an account, a server or your identity. Codes are shared by whatever means you like: message, comment, or a printed frame in a video.
